Despite all the cool products, and ground breaking services, Google still trails behind Yahoo in terms of reach of the online ad network as found in a study conducted by comScore, Inc. for December 2009.
AOL holds the number one position that reached 187 million US internet users. It has witnessed a year on year growth of 8 percent. Yahoo with a total reach of 180.9 million users (8 percent year on year growth) stood at number 2, whereas, Google, which reached to 178.1 million users (9 percent year on year growth), occupied number 3 slot. Microsoft Media Network US settled for number 5 slot. It reached 165.4 million users in the same period.
If we talk about growth trend than Microsoft Media Network US excelled all other networks, as it has recorded a 31 percent year on year growth in the industry that grew by 8 percent in the same period. The data suggests that Microsoft is going to be a big player in terms of reach in coming months. Another ad network that witnessed significant growth is Collective Network. It grew by 22 percent.
